Security bolts?
Security bolts (tamper-proof bolts) are a high-security solution for fixing objects in place, available in both permanent and reusable types. We keep a large stock and also offer custom-made options.
JingBang®Permanent and Reusable Tamper-Proof Bolts
Tamper-proof bolts come in different levels of security, from low torque and basic protection to high torque, premium security bolts like Jingbang® Security Bolt.
We offer various security drive types for both reusable and permanent anti-tamper bolts. Each reusable bolt requires a matching security tool for installation, while some permanent anti-theft bolts also need a special tool to fasten (e.g., Kinmar permanent bolt). Each reusable high-security bolt is designed to be used with matching nuts.
Why Security Bolts Matter
Sicherheitsverschlüsse are one of the best ways to prevent unauthorized access to objects, areas, or locations. They help stop tampering, vandalism, and theft. These bolts are especially useful for securing applications at high risk of damage or theft. Installing security bolts not only reduces the chances of being targeted but also gives users peace of mind.

Types of Security Bolts
There are different types of tamper-proof bolts, offering either a removable or permanent security solution. A great example of a reusable, high-security fastener is our own Jingbang® Security Bolt, which offers top-tier security. Meanwhile, we can customize different types of tooth shapes according to customers’ requirements to satisfy your exclusive patent needs.
In contrast, some security bolts are designed to be permanent. For example, Button Head Shear Bolts have a hexagonal section above the head that snaps off when the correct torque is reached. This leaves behind a smooth bolt head with no drive, making removal impossible without damaging the bolt.
Choosing the Right Size Security Bolt
Selecting the correct diameter and length of the bolt is crucial for safety and effectiveness. If the thread is too small, the bolt won’t fit securely and could be removed with standard tools like pliers. If the thread doesn’t go deep enough into the material, it won’t hold firmly, making unauthorized removal easier. Measuring properly and understanding the application requirements is essential for a secure fit.
Security Bolts in Stock
We carry a wide variety of security fasteners in different sizes, head styles, and drive types. Our selection includes M2, M2.5, M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, and M10 diameter security bolts. For more details, please check the product pages, where you’ll find technical data, drawings, and stock availability.
Specialist & Large Diameter Security Bolts
Jingbang supplies a broad range of specialist security fasteners for various applications, either from stock or made to order with short lead times. We also provide larger diameter security bolts, screws, and nuts, which are ideal for commercial and industrial projects.
We can supply larger size fasteners on request, typically in Pin Hex, Pin Torx, or Wave Security Drive. Available sizes include M12, M14, M16, M18, M20, M22, M24, M27, M30, M33, M36, M39, M42, M45, and M48. We also offer custom-made security bolts and fasteners based on customer specifications.
Security Bolts for Extra Protection
Security bolts are essential for protecting structures in both public and private spaces where vandalism could be an issue. Whether securing hazardous wiring that could pose a danger if tampered with or locking up valuable compartments targeted by thieves, tamper-proof security bolts add an extra layer of protection.
Tamper-proof bolts typically have a Torx head or star-shaped head that can’t be operated with standard tools. They are also available as tamper-resistant flange button types or socket head buttons.
Beyond anti-vandal uses, security bolts also help reinforce structures, such as securing billboards against strong winds or keeping factory machine parts tightly in place to protect workers. Our RS range of security bolts includes raised and countersunk types from leading brands. With tamper-resistant fixings and fasteners for any material, we can help with your security and vandal-proofing needs.
Why Use Security Bolts?
For many, preventing theft and vandalism is a key part of design requirements. As a result, the demand for tamper-resistant security fixings is growing. Security bolts are the most commonly used option and are widely recognized for various workplace and public applications, including:
Number Plates
CCTV Poles
Rack Mounting Equipment
Computer Hard Cases
Public Bathroom Fittings
How to Install Security Bolts
Security bolts require a screwdriver or tool that matches the head type of the bolt. They are usually installed with Torx drivers, but it’s important to check whether the driver is shaped correctly to fit pin Torx heads.

Security Bolt Drive Types
There are different drive types for anti-vandal security bolts, including:
Hexalobular Recess
Pin Hex Recess
Torx
Pin Torx
- four holes
- triangle head
Security bolts are a simple yet effective way to protect valuable assets from tampering and theft. Whether you need a reusable or permanent solution, these bolts provide the extra security needed for various applications.
